HUNTLEY — The Huntley Fire Protection District (HFPD) hosted a ceremony on Nov. 30 to honor the career of Battalion Chief David Eeg.
According to the HFPD, Eeg embarked on his firefighting career on a part-time basis back in 1987. Eeg originally had plans to work as an aerospace engineer, however, that changed after the 1986 Space Shuttle Challenger disaster.
Eeg’s history with Huntley extends far beyond the fire department as he has lived in the village since he was 14 years old and even graduated from Huntley High School.
