According to a village press release statement, residents should have their debris out on the parkway by 7 a.m. July 17. As they clean up their properties, residents are asked to keep tree debris separate from the house and place debris near the street, as this aids with the removal and disposal process.

Shortly after Elgin’s tornado sirens went off, residents reported funnel cloud formations and an eventual tornado touchdown in the Edgewater (Del Webb) subdivision at Bowes and Randall Roads, according to Elgin’s Emergency Operations Center.

According to authorities, a 2016 black Toyota Tacoma pickup truck left the eastbound lane of traffic for unknown reasons and struck a 2022 white F150 Ford pickup truck head-on, which resulted in critical injuries being reported.

Despite the county’s best efforts, a recent significant increase in suspected fatal overdoses has been identified within a four-week period between May 12 and June 9, according to MCDH.
